I've seen this a couple times, perhaps it'll help.  First, check out 
this bug report :
  http://www.php.net/bugs.php?id=5489
Perhaps you're running an older version of PHP?  Also, such an error 
occurs when doing this :
  var_dump($GLOBALS);
As it's essentially an endless loop as $GLOBALS is within $GLOBALS ... 
maybe you're experiencing a similar result.
