How can I increase the delivery speed for local messages?

First make sure to use two different physical disks for the queue and
the home directories the messages will be delivered to. This way the
messages are copied from the queue to the home directories without the
need of head positioning.
On slow machines with slow harddisks it may be good to limit
concurrencylocal to 2 or 3 to avoid excessive (slow) head positioning.
