What are the alternatives for Unix-based DNS servers?

Jan 19th, 2008 09:28
dman, Brian Coogan, http://sturly.com

The major alternatives at the moment seem to be:
- Bind (most widely used, least secure, fiddly)
- djbdns (secure, easier to administer, robust)
- MaraDNS (under development as of April 2001)
djbdns has its own section here including links to FAQs, homepages, and
tutorials; Bind and MaraDNS sections will hopefully emerge eventually.
For Bind, see http://www.isc.org/products/BIND.
