What are the default TTLs used by tinydns-data?

May 6th, 2001 15:50
Rob Mayoff,

The default TTLs used by tinydns-data:
2560 (42 mins 40 secs) for SOA records from either "." or "Z" lines
259200 (3 days) for NS records from either "." or "&" lines
259200 (3 days) for A records from either "." or "&" lines
86400 (1 day) for everything else
Caches use the SOA TTL for caching negative answers.
If you specify a non-zero TTL on a "." line, tinydns-data will use it
for the NS and A records, but will use 2560 for the SOA record. If you
specify a zero TTL on a "." line, tinydns-data will use zero for the
TTLs of the NS, A, and SOA records.
For any other line, if you specify a TTL, tinydns-data will use it for
all the records generated for the line.
