How can I quickly have a look at these PEAR files?

Dec 24th, 2001 22:20
Philip Olson,

PEAR has been included in PHP since 4.0.0 and a likely place they'll
be located on your *nix server is at or around here :
  /usr/local/lib/php/
A windows install is a little different and depends on who compiled it
but usually PEAR is included. For good measure, the distrobution at
the following location *always* includes PEAR :
  http://www.php4win.de/
It'll come with PEAR files in the /PEAR/ directory. Also, the CVS
files can be seen (and copied) online here :
  http://cvs.php.net/cvs.php/pear
Also note that PHP CVS can be downloaded anytime, by anyone, here :
  http://www.php.net/anoncvs.php
Regarding the above anonymous CVS link, modify the second line to just
download PEAR if you wish, like so :
  cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository co pear
So essentially you'll do (remember, login requires password which
is 'phpfi':
  cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository login
  cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository co pear
  cvs -d :pserver:cvsread@cvs.php.net:/repository logout
Some generic tips :
  a. If you have PEAR.php.in , rename it to PEAR.php
  b. Add your PEAR directory to your include_path in php.ini
  c. Use the newest version of PHP / PEAR
  d. Read the faq : http://pear.php.net/faq.php
Expect the PEAR section to grow on faqts, PEAR is under heavy
development.
